About Connection Gives

What is Connection Gives?

Connection Gives is a community-powered fundraising initiative in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

People contribute by offering perks (like experiences, services, or goods), and others can claim those perks — with all proceeds supporting the campaign.

Where does the money go?

Funds raised (after payment processing fees) are held in trust and directed to LLSC in support of the campaign.

Perks & Purchases

Is buying a perk the same as making a donation?

No.

Perks are purchases, similar to a fundraiser like a bake sale

They are not tax-deductible

If you'd like to make a tax-deductible contribution, you can add a separate donation during checkout.

Are perks refundable?

No. All perk purchases are final and non-refundable.

By purchasing a perk, you are supporting a fundraising initiative rather than making a traditional retail purchase.

Who provides the perks?

Perks are offered by independent contributors in the community.

They are generously donating their time, skills, or goods to support the cause, but they are not affiliated with or acting on behalf of LLSC.

What if there's an issue with my perk?

If something goes wrong, contact us at hello@connectiongives.com within 7 days of the expected fulfillment date.

Please include:

Your name

The perk you purchased

A short description of the issue

We will do our best to connect you with the contributor and help facilitate a resolution.

That said, we do not guarantee outcomes and are not responsible for fulfillment.

How will I receive my perk?

Each perk may have different fulfillment details (e.g., pickup, delivery, scheduling).

You will receive instructions after your purchase, or the contributor will contact you directly if needed.

Donations & Tax Receipts

Can I make a donation without buying a perk?

At this time, donations are made during checkout alongside a perk. You can choose to add any donation amount.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Tax receipts are issued by LLSC (not this site) and are available only if:

Your donation is $25 CAD or more, and

You provide a valid Canadian address

Receipts apply only to the donation portion, not perk purchases.

Contributors

How can I offer a perk?

You can submit a perk through our contributor form.

We review submissions to ensure they align with the spirit and quality of the campaign.

Do contributors receive tax receipts?

No. Contributors are recognized publicly for their generosity but do not receive charitable tax receipts.

What is expected of contributors?

Contributors are expected to:

Accurately describe their perk

Communicate clearly with buyers

Follow through on fulfillment

Payments & Security

How are payments processed?

Payments are securely processed via Stripe.

We do not store your payment card information.

Staying in Touch

Can I be notified when the marketplace opens?

Yes. You can leave your email to receive a one-time notification when the marketplace goes live.

Will you send me marketing emails?

No spam. We only send relevant updates related to your request or participation. You can opt out anytime.
