Welcome to Connection Gives - Olivia's Fundraising Site for LLSC ("the Site"), operated by Olivia Li.

The Site enables a community-driven fundraising initiative in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), combining perk-based purchases and optional charitable donations.

By accessing or using this Site, you agree to these Terms of Use.

2. Nature of the Platform

The Site functions as:

  • A marketplace for perks offered by independent contributors
  • A fundraising initiative supporting LLSC

Important distinctions:

  • Perks are purchases, not charitable donations
  • Perk purchases are not tax-deductible
  • Contributors are not making charitable donations and do not receive tax receipts

The Site is not a party to transactions between buyers and contributors and does not act as a seller, supplier, or provider of perks.

3. LLSC Relationship Disclaimer

All views, thoughts, and opinions expressed on this Site are solely those of the author and are provided for informational purposes only.

They do not reflect the official policy, position, or views of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, or representatives.

Any content is shared in support of LLSC's mission but does not constitute an official statement on its behalf.

4. Payments and Fund Flow

  • Payments are processed via Stripe
  • Funds (minus transaction fees) are deposited into a designated account held in trust for LLSC
  • The Site does not store payment card information
  • We are not responsible for payment processing issues caused by third-party providers.

5. Donations and Tax Receipts

During checkout, users may add an optional donation.

Tax receipts:

  • Are issued only by LLSC, not by this Site
  • Apply only to the donation portion, not perk purchases

Are available only if:

  • The donation is $25 CAD or more, and
  • A valid Canadian address is provided

Eligibility and issuance are determined solely by LLSC.

6. Perks and Contributors

  • Perks are offered by independent contributors

Contributors are publicly recognized for their generosity but:

  • Are not representatives of LLSC
  • Do not receive charitable tax receipts

We do not:

  • Verify, endorse, or guarantee contributors
  • Guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or suitability of perks
  • Guarantee fulfillment or timelines

7. Refunds and Fulfillment

  • All perk purchases are final and non-refundable
  • By purchasing a perk, you acknowledge you are supporting a fundraising initiative and not making a traditional retail purchase

If an issue arises:

  • Contact us at hello@connectiongives.com within 7 days of the expected fulfillment date
  • Include your name, the perk purchased, and a description of the issue

We will make reasonable efforts to facilitate communication between you and the contributor. However, we do not guarantee outcomes and are not responsible for fulfillment.

8. User Submissions

Users may submit information through forms (e.g., purchases, contact requests, perk submissions).

You agree that:

  • Information you provide is accurate
  • You have the right to submit any content provided

We reserve the right to review, approve, reject, or remove submissions at our discretion.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for fraudulent or misleading purposes
  • Misrepresent donations, perks, or affiliations
  • Interfere with Site functionality or security

10. Email Communications

We may use your email to:

  • Communicate about purchases or submissions
  • Respond to inquiries
  • Notify you when the marketplace opens (if requested)

You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

11. Third-Party Services

The Site relies on third-party providers.

We are not responsible for their:

  • Services
  • Policies
  • Data handling practices

12. Intellectual Property

All Site content (excluding submitted content) is owned by or licensed to us and may not be reused without permission.

13. Disclaimer

The Site and all content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Perks are provided by contributors "as is," without any warranties or guarantees.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under the laws of Quebec and Canada:

We are not liable for:

  • Any issues related to perks or contributors
  • Failure or delay in fulfillment
  • Donation receipt eligibility
  • Payment processing issues
  • Indirect or consequential damages

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Site, its operator, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Site
  • Your purchase or offering of perks
  • Your interactions with other users or contributors

16. Right to Refuse or Remove

We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse or remove any perk or submission
  • Restrict or terminate access to the Site
  • Modify or cancel participation

at our sole discretion.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the applicable laws of Canada.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Quebec.

18. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
